Proud to Support World Enduro Champion, David Knight MBE

At Elite Group IT, we’re a proud champion of all things Manx.

We may be a small island, but the homegrown talent we’ve got is immense. From musical theatre stars to champion athletes, you could be forgiven for thinking there something special in the water here. A local service for local businesses, we’re keen to support Manx talent and invest in the Island’s rich and diverse community wherever we can.  

That’s why we’re thrilled to be supporting David Knight, a 5-time world Enduro motorcycle champion and 4-time AMA champion USA, as he embarks on the race of his life- Dakar 2021. Covering 4,751 miles over 13 days, the Dakar Rally represents the ultimate endurance challenge for some of the best racers in the world.  

Born and bred on the Isle of Man, Knight, or ‘Knighter’ as he’s affectionately known, learnt everything he knows by racing on the Island’s diverse terrain. Winning the 2005 Enduro World Championship catapulted him to the very top of his sport, with a second win in 2006 securing him a place in the Enduro hall of fame. Going on to win another 3 world championships and taking on America with 4 wins at the AMA champion, Knighter is a fantastic representative for our Island and its biking culture and history.  

Despite all this sporting success and international recognition, Knighter remains a true Manx lad and pillar of the local biking community. With his training programme and bootcamp, Knighter is helping to train the next generation of champions, whilst passing on the sheer enjoyment and passion for the sport.  

After he’s contributed so much to the Manx community and the sport in general, we’re rallying around Knighter to get him to Dakar 2021. Sadly, due to COVID-19, his main sponsor has pulled out last minute. Determined not to give up on his dream, our man has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the money he needs for the trip. If you want to help Knighter get to Dakar 2021, you can donate any amount here. We understand that times are hard, but every pound towards the fund will help; it’s an excellent cause that promotes the Island and our biking culture on the international stage.
