Back To NewsMeet Rob Jefferies who joined us earlier in the year as a Cloud Architecture Consultant. Rob has a wealth of experience having worked in the industry for over 16 years. We are delighted to have Rob on board and he has already made a big impact. We caught up with Rob to find out a little more about him.
Hi Rob, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Originally from the UK, I have over 16 years of IT experience and have enjoyed a varied career working across a broad range of areas including support, databases, development, and hosting. I have extensive experience working with cloud technologies specifically with VMware, Hyper-V, and most recently Microsoft Azure.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The nature of working in IT means that the landscape is continually evolving. Adapting to developments and new technology is vital and I particularly enjoy this aspect of my work. Problem-solving is in my nature and throughout my career, I have had a strong focus on the health, security, reliability, and efficiency of systems.
Working in IT means that you are kept on your toes and there are always projects to be working on – I definitely enjoy the variety!
What are you looking forward to about being a member of the Elite Group IT team?
At Elite Group IT, I feel there’s great scope to develop the best systems for our customers, that meet their specific needs. There’s an opportunity to think creatively and collaborate in a supportive environment, ultimately helping to improve the services available to our customers.
The dedication of the team is evident, and I am glad to have joined a dynamic and enthusiastic group of people. This is a hugely exciting period for the company so it’s a great time to have joined the company.
What advice would you give to businesses thinking about their IT for 2023 and beyond?
I think there are many ways businesses can best protect and futureproof their business.
Businesses have shown that a digital transformation for a modern workplace requires systems that are flexible and adapt to their specific needs. Making the most of the systems businesses currently use is vital, ensuring that they are using all the available features will help them get the most for their money.
Security is also an important area for businesses to consider. With the number of cyberattacks and incidents on the rise, having strong and secure systems that protect your data is of paramount importance. There are a number of solutions that can assist businesses and the team are well placed to provide support in this area.
Finally, businesses need to educate their employees on utilising their systems and data security. Providing training and support to ensure the team are using best practices, will ultimately help businesses in the long run.
